This pencil study is my youngest son, Brandon and my Arabian, D�Artagnan. Brandon was around 8 and D�Artagnan, around 6 � 8 months. It was a great moment I happened to catch on Tom�s Nikon; the interaction, the genuine kindness and nuzzling was too much for me not to render. Horses actually do a thing some times, where they will take their head and hold you to them, as if hugging you. D�Artagnan still does this on a rare occasion when I have the time to just hang around him for no reason, and it is beautiful and a little frightening, at once you can feel the immense strength in his neck ― and the gentleness.
