Artist's Description
I was attending a watercolor workshop in the Florida Keys, and this and all the paintings for the workshop were plein-air exercise, painting outside. The day was gorgeous, the waves hypnotic, and the picturesque boats seemed to be dozing, resting for the next time they had to face the wind and waves toiling to pull nets spread over such great distances! I had never painted a shrimp boat before, and this study actually worked well enough to stand as a painting.
